We performed a retrospective survey on endo-genous uveitis in patients seen by us during the 4-year period (1974-1977). There was a total of 1,066cases with endogenous uveitis, including central serous retinopathy (24.1%), Behçet's disease (17.6%), Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease (7.7%), ocular sarcoidosis (5.6%), toxoplasmosis (3.5%) and glaucomato-cyclitic crisis (5.4%). Uveitis cases-with unidentified etiology accounted for 29.1% of the series.

Among the 272 eyes affected by the Behçet's dis-ease, the visual acuity was 0.1 or less in 80% at the end of the study period.
