　リウマチ性疾患に伴う眼合併症およびその頻度を知る目的で，全身的にすでに確定診断された強直性脊椎炎16例，慢性関節リウマチ33例，および若年性関節リウマチ8例を対象として，眼症状の有無および性状を検討し，次のような結果を得た。

（1）強直性脊椎炎では16例中8例（50％）にブドウ膜炎が見られた。その特徴は線維素性の前眼部を主体としたブドウ膜炎を示すものが多く，また片眼性で再発性の傾向が見られた。

（2）慢性関節リウマチでは33例中2例（6％）にしかブドウ膜炎の合併はなく，むしろ乾性角結膜炎を示す症例（30％）の方が多かった。

（3）若年性関節リウマチでは8例中2例（25％）に重篤なブドウ膜炎とそれによる多彩な眼合併症が見られた。

Ophthalmic manifestations of rheumatic diseases were examined in a total of 57 patients consisting of 16 patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), 33 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and 8 patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis ( JRA). Uveitis was found in 8 of 16 patients with AS (50%), in 2 of 33 patients with RA (6%) and in 2 of 8 patients with JRA (25%). As far as AS is con-cerned, the most common form of uveitis was an acute, unilateral fibrous iridocyclitis. The formation of synechiae, fibrous deposits or hypopyon was present in some of the patients.
