アルゴンレーザーによる開放隅角緑内障の治療（II）

Argon laser treatment for open angle glaucoma

　25例，25眼の点眼による眼圧コントロール不良の開放隅角緑内障にargon laserの照射を行ない1年以上の経過観察をした。その結果は次の通りである。

（1）10眼（40％）は眼圧＜20mmHgにコントロールされ，うち1例は無治療，他の9眼は点眼でコントロールされた。8眼（32％）は眼圧20〜24mmHgにコントロールされ，うち1眼は無治療，7眼は点眼でコントロールされた。7眼（28％）は無効であった。

（2）原発性開放隅角緑内障に対しては続発性緑内障より有効であった。

（3）さして重大な合併症は認めなかった。

　以上よりargon laser照射はtrabecular collapseによる開放隅角緑内障に有効であると結論する。

Argon laser radiation was applied to 25 eyes (25 patients) with various types of open angle glaucoma with uncontrollable intraocular pressure by topical medications. The laser output was set at 600-700 mW, 0.2 second and 200μ beam diameter. The trabecular meshwork was irradiated 27 to 60 times in one sitting. An additional laser radiation on another sitting due to unsatisfactory effect was done in 7 eyes.

After a follow-up of one year or more, 18 eyes were judged as beneficially influenced by laser treatment. Intraocular pressure was maintained below 20 mmHg in 10 eyes, 1 without medication and 9 with topical medications.
