®エタンブトールによる視神経症の観察

Ocular toxicity with ethambutol

緒　言

　エタンブトールethambutolは化学名を2，2'-（ethylenediamino） di−1−butanolと称し，アメリカのレダリー研究所で抗結核剤としての新しい期待をになつて作られた。結核菌は他の結核薬と交叉耐性を示さないため，初回および再治療肺結核の治療に卓越した効果を発揮する（堂野前^1），馬場ら^2））。

　1962年，Carr＆Henkind^3）は18名の本剤服用者のうち8名に何らかの程度の中毒性弱視様症状を認め，翌年わが国でも原田（勲）^4）が2例の®エタンブールによる眼障害の報告を行ない，以後多数の報告が相ついだ（内藤^5），駒井^6），遠藤^7），玉井^8），茂木^9），三根^10））。

Nine cases with ocular toxicity induced by Ethambutol were presented. These cases repre-sented about 13 per cent of total cases which were treated for tuberculosis with Ethambutol for the past period of 13 months. Our routine examination included the test of visual acuity, chromatic sense, central and peripheral visual field as well as slit lamp examination and ophthalmoscopy. Critical flicker fusion frequency was explored at every visit. Fluorescein angiogra-phy and ERG were often made. Two patients of our observation were diabetic.
