  • Look Inside

A water soluble corticosteroid, "Decadron injection" (Dexamethasone-21-sodium phospha-te), was administered to 20 cases of various ocular diseases considered as indications of corticosteroid therapy by subconjunctival and retrobulbar injection.

Clinically, in most cases of episcleritis, uveitis, optic neuritis and postoperative iridocy-clitis, quick and excellent effects were observed.

Appreciable effects were also obtained in 3 cases out of 4 of chorioretinitis centralis.

Except one case in which slight localized hyperemia and chemosis were noticed after subconjunctival injection, no side effects were observed.
