Cortisoneの合成に始まり，つぎつぎに発見された合成副腎皮質ホルモン剤は，副作用少く且つより有効である点に於て，今日眼科治療面に欠くべからざるものとなつている。最も新しい製剤として登場したBetamethasone （製品名Rin—deron）は抗炎症作用がPrednisoloneの8〜10倍で，従来の副腎皮質ホルモン剤に比し副作用少く，既にその内服使用に関しては水川，湖崎，I．A．Abrahamson,D．M． Gordon，坂上他，池田，阪本，生井他の報告があり，いづれも良好な成績を得ている。
今回私達は，0.1％Betamethasone水性点眼液（PH 8.0，氷点降下0.48）を諸種眼疾患及び諸種眼内手術後の刺激症状に対して使用し，その消炎効果を検討する機会を得たのでその成績を報告する。
Rinderon ophthalmic solution consists of 0.1 % watersoluble Betamethasone. We have alre-ady known the strong antiphlogistic effect of Betamethasone (Rinderon) for the inflam-matory conditions of the eye.
In this paper 27 diseased eyes were studied for the evaluation of topical instillation of this solution and the following results were obta-ined.
Rinderon was instilled times a day for 2 to 27 days.
