Clinical Experience with "Rinderon" Ophthalmic Ointment

I．緒言

　Cortisoneに始まる各種副腎皮質ホルモンの強力な抗炎症作用・抗アレルギー作用は，既に汎く知られる所であり，眼科領域においても，多くの疾患の治療に愛用せられるようになつて久しい。初期に用いられたCortisone, Hydrocortisone等は，水および電解質体謝に及ぼす影響，血圧上昇，血糖値上昇作用，消化性潰瘍の悪化，肺結核の再燃，悪化等の副作用がかなり著しく，より副作用の少ない副腎皮質ホルモン剤として，Pre—dnisolone, Prednisone, Methyl-prednisoloneおよびTriamcinolone等が，相次いで出現した。近年，最も新しい型の副腎皮質ホルモン剤として，DexamethasoneおよびBetamethasoneが登場し，全身的に，或いは局所的に，広く臨床に用いられようとしている。

　今回，我々は，BetamethasoneであるところのRinderon眼軟膏を，塩野義製薬より提供を受け，これを種々の眼疾患の治療に用いたので，その成績について，ここに報告する。

0.1% Rinderon (Betamethasone) ophthalmic ointment was locally applied to 31 cases ofvarious ocular diseases to study its antiphlo-gistic effect and following results were obtai-ned.

In most cases of blepharitis, phlyctane, scle-ritis, anterior uveitis and postoperative iritis, excellent therapeutic effects were obtained with this ointment.

In one case of vernal conjunctivitis, it showed a remarkable effect, while in various keratitis its effect was indefinite.

No side effects including retardation of wo-und healing process were noted.
