  • Look Inside

A man aged 43 had been complaining of visual disturbance of both eyes for the last two years. A pseudo-xanthoma elasticum was found on the left side of his neck, but no hypertension nor other angiocardiac ab-normality was recognized.

Visual acuity ; right 0.1(n. c.) left 0.1(n. c.) The optic disc was surrounded by a grey-yellowish zone from which pigment streaks radiated to the periphery in the fundus of both eyes. In the right fundus a slightly elevated macular degeneration of greenish blue color was observed, while in the left a white disciform degeneration of macula with small blots of hemorrhage upon it.
