  • Abstract

Dep. of Ophth., Juntendo University, School of Medicine. Tokyo. The authors apply electric coagulation with a sharp needle on the sclera of myopic eyes through conjunctiva to avoid the retinal detachment after lens removal in the case of cataracta and Fukala's myopic surgery. The coagulation point make one or two lines with two mm distance each other. The lins are situated at the distance of eight to twelve mm from limbus. Each coagulation must not perforate the sclera. The reaction of this procedure is very light. This method is superior to the method of Franceschetti in this point.
