This is the first to report on the histopatho-logical findings of an eye containing Worst's iris medallion lens.

A 33-year-old man had intracapsular extrac-tion of cataract with primary implantation of the lens in the right eye in January 1975.

The insertion of the lens caused difficulties due to bulging the vitreous. Eight days posto-peratively, the lens appeared to be dislocated, with one loop in front of the iris and one behind it. On the 13th postoperative day, the lens was repositioned by the introduction of Sato's knife under mydriasis. After this, the visual acuity improved to 0.7.
