　老人性白内障で後房レンズ挿入の手術をうけ，術後3ヵ月以上経過，視力の安定した症例11例，13眼についてその近見視機能を検査し，すでに報告したGifu lens II挿入眼の成績と比較検討した。

　Gifu lens II （iridocapsular lens）挿入眼と後房レンズ挿入限の近距離明視域および調節力は，それぞれ11.2±2.0（cm），2.11±1.47（D），10.8±5.8（cm），2.19±1.08（D）であり，両者の間に有意差を認めなかった。

　赤外線optometer AS III型の改良装置により，他覚的に調節運動と瞳孔反応を同時記録して検討したところ，近見時に縮瞳反応は認められたが，積極的な調節運動は記録されなかった。

　これらより，後房レンズ挿入眼にみられる偽調節はGifu lens II挿入眼と同様に瞳孔径による焦点深度増大を主とした散光圏効果によるものである。そして，近見時に縮瞳反応が他覚的検査法で示されたことは，縮瞳が偽調節の効果に関与していることを裏付けるものと考察した。

Patients exhibiting the phenomenon of apparentaccommodation in pseudophakia have been ob-served and reported. As they do not actually ac-commodate, this phenomenon has been called pseu-doaccommodation. In this study, 13 eyes with pseu-dophakia (implanted with posterior chamber lens) were examined as to accommodation by accom-modopolyrecoder and infrared optometer.

An average of accommodation in pseudophakia was measured 2.19±1.08 diopters. There was no significant difference between pseudophakia of iridocapular lens and of posterior chamber lens regarding the accommodation.
