未熟児網膜症活動期の瘢痕期への推移とその臨床的背景

Follow-up Studies on Retinopathy of Prematurity: Clinical Observation in Relationship between Changes of Active and Cicatricial Phases

緒言

　未熟児網膜症に関する研究はすでに多く，著者らも1972年以来，本症の発生，進行に関する統計的考察を行なつて来た^1〜3）。

　最近，本症が大きな社会問題としてとりあげられるにおよんで，多くの医療機関から発生に関する統計をはじめ，この1,2年は特に光凝固療法を中心とした報告が数多くなされている。

The relationship between active changes and cicatricial residua in retinopathy of prematurity was carried out on 321 children. These sub-jects were divided into two groups. Group Ⅰ consisted of 128 children who had been born premature and admitted to the neonatal care unit of the Nagoya City University Hospital from January 1, 1970 through December 31, 1974, while group Ⅱ consisted of 193 children who had been sent to our clinic from other hospitals during the same period for the pur-pose of treatment or careful follow-up of this disease. The general conditions such as birth weight, gestation, duration of oxygen supply etc.
