視機性眼振の臨床的応用—乳幼児の視機性眼振の発達について

Developmental Study of Optokinetic Response in the Human Infant

緒言

　新生児の視機性眼振，：optokinetic nystagmus：（以下OKN）について報告したNordmann^1）はOKNが出現するのは生後3週〜1カ月であり，その運動は急速かつ不規則であると述べ，その後，この運動は衝動性運動であるとされた^2）。Kestenbaum^3）は成人にみられるようなOKNは固視の発達する以前には出現せず，滑動性運動が出る生後3〜5カ月で本来のOKNが生ずると述べた。しかしながら，以後，改良された回転視標の導入により，OKNは生れつき出現する反応であることがわかつてきた^4）5）6）。

　これらの報告は主としてOKN出現の時期，新生児，乳児の視力測定の面から追求がなされており，どのような発達過程をとるかについては述べられていない。われわれは乳幼児を対象として，OKNの発達過程，およびその発現型について家兎および成人と比較追求を試みた。

The authors studied the development of the optomotor pathway in the human infant with induced optokinetic nystagmus.

1. OKN was recorded by means of the tech-nique of electro-oculography and analysed as to the types of response with normal 28 child-ren. The age of the cases ranged from 50 days to llyears, in which 21 cases were less than one year.

2. At first normal adult OKN was examined. Statistically no differences were observed when he gazed at the targets by unilateral eye or bilateral eyes, and no differences when the drum was rotated away from either side.
