上方視および下方視の際に現われる注視方向性眼振の一部としてみられる垂直性眼振,あるいは頭位変換に際して一過性にみられる重直性眼振は比較的しばしば経験されるところであるが,これらに比べると垂直性自発眼振はまれな所見であり,文献にもその記載をみることが少ない。
われわれは,すべての眼位において上方に向かう垂直性眼振を示した症例と,逆に下方に向かう症例とを経験したのでこれらを報告し,あわせて文献的考察および病変部位の推論を行なつた。
Two cases of spontaneous vertical nystagmus in whom the occular movements were pointed upwards and downwards are reported.
In the first case a man, aged 53, from manifestation of characteristic nystagmus the lesion was considered as probably being vascular in origin and located somewhere along the midline of the upper portion of the brain stem.
The second case was a woman, aged 35,in whom the lesion was suspected as the most likely to be in the region of either nodullus, flocculus or necleus fastigius of the cerebellum.
