交代性眼振の1例

A CASE OF ALTERNATING NYSTAGMUS

　I．はじめに

　周期的に眼振が交代すること自体はなはだ興味深いものがある。開眼正中位で眼振方向が周期的に交代する自発性限振については，1920年Borriesの報告にはじまり，現在までに30例近くの報告をみており，本邦でも数例の症例がみられている。1959年Korunhuberが詳細な論文を発表して以来，その眼振性状がほぼ確定された感があるが，交代性眼振に属する眼振の中には質的にも種々の相違のあることがうかがえる。

　われわれは非常に短い周期で交代する珍しい眼振症例を経験したので報告する。

　A case of arachnitis is reported. Chief symptoms noted, in a man aged 22, were that of high fever, loss of balance and hearing, vertigo and alternating nystagmus occurring at the rate of 3-5 seconds in each eye. These symptoms lasted for a period of about a month before they subsided. From the study of literature on other similar cases the author believes that there are a number of variations in manifestation of alternating nystagmus.
