Pituitary-Adrenal Function in Behcet's Disease

緒言

　ベーチェット病に対する副腎皮質ホルモンの功罪については，眼科領域において議論の多いところであるが，このホルモンの影響については臨床的経験に基づいた報告^1）〜4）が主であつて，下垂体・副腎皮質機能について実験的検討を加えたものが少ない。われわれは今回本病患者についてこの点の検討を行ない，若干の知見を得たので，ここに報告したい。

The pituitary-adrenal function was measured in 49 patients with Behcet's disease by Dexa-methasone suppression test, Metopirone test and ACTH test. The function proved to be dec-reased in 31 to 35% of the patients. The pati-ents with dysfunction had significantly poorvision.

The diurnal variation of plasma cortisol level showed normal pattern in many patients with the exception of a few cases.

The stress test with cold (holding the handin 4° water for 30 seconds) revealed pituitary-adrenal function was decreased in patient group.
