An Automatic "Auto-Screeno-Scope" for the Screening Test of Visual Functions

緒言

　人体は外界からの情報の80％を，視覚を通じて取り入れるともいわれるが，社会機構の進歩複雑化に即応して，われわれが正常なる生活，業務を行なう上で，視覚の健全さが要求される面が少なからずあり，眼の機能の検査には眼科領域のみならず広範な分野において関心が持たれ，簡易にそれを測定する機器への要求が高まつている傾向がある。一方，精密なる医学的検査法が種々発達したのに伴い，精密検査を要するケースを選び出すための省力化されたスクリーニング検査の必要性も増してきている。

　集団検診と適性検査を主目的とし，無資格者によつて操作され得る視機能スクリーニング検査器械は古く米国において開発され，Crotho-Rater（Bausch　＆　Lomb），　Sight-Screener （A．O．），Rodatest （Rodenstock），その他の製品が彼地で広く普及しているが，わが国には1960年東京光学から発表され，その後改造されたスクリーノスコープ^1）〜3）があり，現今では主として産業医学の分野で注目され（大石^4）），活用されている。このたびわれわれは，この種の検査器械の改良を図り，視標提示，応答の正否判定，結果の印字記録を自動化した試作器Auto-Screeno-Scopeを完成し，実用の見透しが樹てられるに至ったので，その装置の機能を中心に報告する。

An automatic apparatus for the screening of visual functions has been constructed. It enables the rapid estimation of the visual acuity for each eye, stereopsis or depth perception, and horizontal or vertical phoria, all of which can be tested both for far and near. A test device for color sense is also incorporated.

The subject is instructed to look through eyeholes at the test charts which arc pre-sented successively. After the operator sets the apparatus in operation, the procedure goes on sequentially until the whole tests are completed.
