The exact configuration of the corneal surface, expressed in terms of coefficient in Spencer's equation, was determined using an electronic computer. The exact procedure has been des-cribed elsewhere (Acta Soc. Ophth. Jap. 76 : 558, 1972). A total of 105 eyes from 64 subjects served as object of the present study. They consisted of 56 emmetropic eyes, 44 myopic ones and 5 hypertropic ones. The majority of the cases belonged to the second or third decade of life. The findings indicated that no significant correlation exists between the corneal curvature and the state of refraction. The obtained values are as follows :
