弱視における眼屈折状態に関する研究—第1報不同視弱視について

State of Refraction in Amblyopia:Report I. Studies on Amblyopia due to Anisometropia

まえがき

　これまで眼屈折度に関する研究は，一眼ずつを単位として行なわれてきた。しかし，人間の眼は，両眼において眼底に映じた像をたがいに重ね合わせてsingle visionを行なうものである。この場合，当然のこととして，それらの機能は，調節と輻湊のバランスの上に行なわれているものである。この事実に着目して，眼屈折度もまた人間が単一人を行なう上の一要素であることを考えた時に，両眼の眼屈折度は，それぞれ独立したものではなく，たがいに関連して，相補的役割を果している以上，ある人の両眼の屈折度を一つのペアーとして考え，それに伴う眼位の異常，斜視あるいは弱視の発現も，同時に考慮に入れるべきである。こうした見解に立つた時には，これまでの眼屈折度に関しての文献からは，われわれの希望する資料を発見することができないことがわかつた。

　そこで2年半前から，従来の資料は役だたないものとして，みずから資料を求めるほかはないとの結果に達して本研究を始め，今日迄（40年5月から42年10月迄）に12,623名の患者について詳細な観察を行なうことができた。

During the past 2.5 years' activity of the present authors, 296 patients out of 12,623 out-patients were found to have visual acuity of less than 0.8 at least in one eye without iden-tifiable ophthalmic disorders. 111 out of 296 patients were diagnosed as anisometropic ambl-yopia. The diagnosis was given when there was a difference of more than 2 diopters in the states of refraction in both eyes. Following conclusions have been found from analysis of the 111 cases studied.

There is a slight preponderance of males over females at the rate of 3 : 2 in the incidence of anisometropic amblyopia.
