視神経膠腫について

Optic and Chiaschal Glioma. A Review.

緒言

　視神経膠腫は稀な腫瘍であり，たとえばMar—tin＆Cushing^11）によれば，826例の脳腫瘍症例中7例すなわち0.84％にこれを認めたといい，Taveras^15）は2,000例の頭蓋内膠腫のうち1.7％に本症をみている。著者らの教室において1945年から1971年までに356例の脳腫瘍症例に開頭手術を行ない，7例の視神経膠腫症例に遭遇した。このうち，視交叉神経膠腫の3例については1963年にすでに報告したが^10），その後1971年10月末までに4症例を得た。これらの症例のうちには視野欠損の状態あるいは内分泌機能障害などから下垂体腺腫を疑わしめた症例もあり，神経眼科的に興味ある点が多いのでここに報告する。

One case of orbital optic nerve glioma and 3 cases of chiasmal glioma are presented together with a review on 7 cases of chiasmal glioma observed by the authors during 1945-1971. The ages of the patients ranged from 2 1/2 to 27 years. The cardinal symptoms were unilateral proptosis in orbital glioma and remarkable visu-al loss in cases with chiasmal glioma.

In the early stages of chiasma lglioma, bitem-poral hemianopsia and endocrine disturbances as panhypopituitarism or diabetes insipidus were frequent prominent features so that the clinical diagnosis of pituitary adenoma had been given in some cases.
