Medical Treatment of Asthenopia : A Statistical Appraisal

緒言

　今日の科学文明の発展に伴う現代社会の複雑化は，公害問題をはじめとする環境の悪化，加うるに情報量の過度の増大，社会的な倫理観，価値観の混乱による精神的環境の悪化をきたし，眼精疲労患者は増加複雑化しつつある。この眼精疲労の原因，分類，治療等についてはすでに多くの研究，考察がある。

　今回我々は，ビタミンB群＋E （E−319）の混合薬剤を眼精疲労患者に対して投与して，その薬効を二重盲検法をもつて推計学的に考察したのでその結果を報告する。

A total of 61 patients with asthenopia of either accommodative or neurotic origin were treated by perorally administered vitamin B₂ (6mg), cyanocobalamin (30mg) and vitamin E acetate (50mg) contained in capsules. The treatment was continued for 7 days preceded or followed by treatment by placebo for the same duration in the manner of double blind test.

The statistical appraisal as regards 17 items has shown that there was a significant impro-vement in asthenopic complaints through the treatment. No side effects were encountered throughout the period of the present study.
