環境と眼精疲労

Environment and Asthenopia

I．緒言

　近代病といわれる，近時増加の眼精疲労においては，従来の成書にみられる眼精疲労の分類の範囲には入りがたいものが多い。すなわち，近代生活の進展に伴つて，随所に生体への異常刺激となるものが増大しており，とくに視覚刺激においていちじるしい。これらの生体刺激によつて生じているのではないかと思われる眼精疲労が多い。すでに萩野氏^1）はその分類の中に，visuomentalfatige, general reaction fatigeという分類を入れ，また池田氏^2），田野辺氏^3）らは近代生活におけるいろいろのストレッサーが深い関係のあることを述べている。筆者^4）らは先に居住性の良否が意外と眼精疲労の発現に関係深いことを報告した。

　このような環境からの刺激がどのようなメカニズムでもつて眼精疲労発現に関係するかを明らかにすることはなかなか困難だが，環境よりの刺激によつて生体のリズムの乱れということも十分考えられるところである。

A variety of visual stimuli encountered in the environments in the modern daily life may ex-ert an influence upon the whole body as well as the visual organ, which may cause partially pathogenesis of asthenopia. In order to elucidate the mechanism for the causation of asthenopia and the effects of various drugs, accommodation of the eye was investigated as one of biorhy-thmic phenomena.

(1) The diurnal accommodation of the eye was measured at every two-hour interval wi-thin 24 hours, and the existence of the circa-dian rhythm was demonstrated.
