緒言

　点眼に用いる薬剤の角膜に対する障害度を測定して，これを数量的に表現する方法として，角膜のTemperature reversal effectをもつてする方法が提案されているが^1）2），これに関する詳細な実験はまだ見当たらないので，著者は今回本法について検討し，2,3の知見を得たので報告する。

　角膜には低温で水分を吸収して厚くなり，体温にもどせば水分を排出してもとの厚さに近くなるという性質があり，これをTemperature rever—sal effectというが^3）4），その代表的な測定法には次の二つがある。

In order to examine the ocular toxicity of disinfectants, the influence of several disinfec-tants on the temperature reversal effect of the cornea was studied.

Excised eye balls of adult rabbits were imme-rsed into yeast extract lactalbumin hydrolysate solution (Y.L.E. solution) used for tissue cul-ture, to which disinfectants of certain amount were added. For control, the eye balls were immersed into only Y.L.E. solution. The thick-ness of cornea was measured by Haag-Streit AG slit lamp and depth measuring attachment immediately after excision, 20 hrs. preservation at 4℃ and 6 hrs. at 37℃.
