Therapeutic Attempts on Presbyopia in Habitual Near Workers

I．はじめに

　本研究の目的とするところは，老視の薬物治療の可能性の追究である。

　老眼とはOgle^1）がいみじくも喝破したように，予期した調節量を得ることができない経験の積重ねから，適度の調節を行なうことを習慣的にあきらめてしまつた眼である。

In an attempt to develop a therapeutic me-thod for presbyopia, a long-term clinical study was conducted over a group of occupational near workers between the age of 18 and 52 years engaged in the classification of finger-prints in police departments in Osaka. The sub-jects were examined as to the range and time of accommodation by means of accommodome-ter before treatment and also 3 and 5 months after regular topical use of eyedrop ES contain-ing 0.01% pilocarpine or of placebos.
