老視年齢における調節機能と薬物の影響

I．はじめに

　近年平均寿命が急速に延びたことによつて，老年病の問題は大きな課題となつてきている。眼科領域においても多数の高年者眼疾患がこれと関連してくる。老視もまたこのうちの一つとして，特に実際の活動に相当な障害となる場合も十分考えられる。これらのことはすでに寺本氏ら^1）が報告するごとく，老視年齢において眼精疲労の訴えが多いことなどからもうかがい知ることがてきる。

　老視の原因については一般的には水晶体弾性の変化によると考えられてきている。しかしながら川路能利子氏^2）は老視年齢における調節機能の微妙さについて報告した。那須晃^3）は調節機能の変化からみると35歳にして老視現象は発現する。萩野鉚太郎，鈴村昭弘^4）は，H・S自記眼精疲労計によつて老視については特有の調節の機能状態が認められる。さらに寺本ちづ子氏は種々な薬剤との関係の上において検討し，水晶体の要素に毛様筋の要素も加味されていることを強調し，Donders, FuchsWeeks-Mebf，三木らの説に賛成すると報告している。Fincham^5）もまた老視現象は水晶体質の硬化によつて説明できるが毛様体筋が年とともに衰弱することも無視できないと述べた。Ogleも老視者がいくら調節を努力しても予期した調節量の変化が期待できないという慣習の蓄積が，必要な調節量に対する調節刺激をおこたるようになるのではないかと述べている。

Using the eye drop (ES), of which the chief component is 0.01% pilocarpine, 75 of male and female subjects aged from 35 to 55 years old were examined on the influence of the eye drop upon accommodation of the eye by the measu-rements of the accommodation time with use of HS's Autographic Asthenopiameter and the near point of the eye.

It was observed that the amplitude of accom-modation increased, and that the shortening of the accommodation time and the diminution of fluctuation of the values during the repeated measurement were remarkable.
