  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Through fluorescein studies of 3 cases with subretinal haemorrhage, it has been shown that the fluorescence from the choroid is chiefly re-sponsible for the background fluorescence in darkly pigmented Japanese eyes. Over the hae-morrhagic area where the fluorescence from the choroid is entirely filtered off, there is total ab-sence of background fluorescence which is of diffuse, hazy and fine granular character in unaffected fundus area (Fig. 1). The fluorescence from the retinal vascular system is characte-rised by its reticular configuration and never assumes diffuse or mottled appearance in nor-mal eyes.
