  • Look Inside

Twenty-four cases of intracranial meningi-oma were analysed as to their ophthalmologi-cal features. The cases consisted of 10 fema-les and 14 males.

The interval between the occurrence of ini-tial subjective symptoms and the seeking of medical advice lay within one year in 63% of the cases. Half of the patients were less than 40 years of age.

The tumor was located over the sphenoidal ridge in 6 cases, in parasagittal lobe in 4 ca-ses, in subfrontal lobe in 3 cases and in cere-bral lobe in 11 cases.

In cases with sphenoidal ridge meningioma papilloedema, Foster-Kennedy's syndrome and hemianopsia homonyma occurred in 33% each.
