Chloramphenicol投与による両側性急性球後視神経炎の2症例

Two cases of acute retrobulbar neuritis during the administration of chloramphenicol

I．まえがき

　抗生物質は生体の代謝を阻害し，ビタミンB群の欠乏を惹き起こすことが知られている。Chlo—ramphenicol （CM）は抗菌スペクトルが広く，各種の感染症に用いられている。眼科領域での副作用はほとんどみられないが時には他の抗生物質投与の際にもみられるビタミンB群欠乏様症状，稀には造血機能障害をもたらす。

　著者は長期抗結核療養者にCMを投与し，急性球後視神経炎を併発した2症例を観察したので報告する。

Two cases of bilateral acute retrobulbar neuritis during the administration of chlora-mphenicol are reported. The patients are middle aged males suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis for many years. Sulfadiazine and isoniazid had been continued for nearly a year before the patients were given suppl-emental chloramphenicol at the daily dosis of 1.5gr. because of mild fever. Retrobul-bar neuritis, preceded by peripheral neuritis and weakness of accommodation, occurred 15 and 20 weeks after initiation of chloramphe-nicol therapy.
