わが教室における球後視神経炎その後の実態

A research on retrobulbar neuritis during the last 6 years

Ⅰ．緒言

　鈴木は先きに岐阜における第61回日眼総会の宿題報告を分担し，"本邦における球後視神経炎について"と題して報告し，その中で特に本症の原因的方面に対して重点をおいて述べたが，又，当時問題とされていた視力良好な軽症慢性軸性視神経炎に関しても詳細に述べておいた。

　その際，更に今後の検討にまたねばならぬ問題点として，鈴木がその結論を保留し，或いは慎重に取扱つたものは軽症型のものの病名のことであり又その頻度の点であつた。

From the year 1957 to 1962, the authors found 556 cases (male 270, female 296) of retrobulbar neuritis constituting 1.47 per sent for all outpatients during this period. Acute retrobulbar neuritis was found in 147 cases, i.e. 0.38 per cent, chronic ax al (retrobulbar)neuritis in 223 cases, i.e. 0.63 per cent, sli-ght chronic axial neuritis in which visual acuity is not less than 1.0, in 180 cases, i.e. 0.47 per cent, and Leber's disease was found in 16 cases.

There was no marked difference in the frequency of acute retrobulbar neuritis as compared with previous report (Acta Soc. Ophthalm. Jap. 61. p. 2068, 1957).
