Abstract. Purpose:To report the results of computer analysis regarding rotation of toric intraocular lens(IOL). Cases and Method:This study was made on 38 eyes that received cataract extraction and implantation of toric IOL. Photographs were taken on day 1 and 12 months after surgery. The photographs were analyzed to quantitate the rotation of implanted IOL. Results:Two or more marks were visible on the IOL in 31 eyes(82%). One or no mark was seen in 18% of eyes because of poor mydriasis or anterior lens opacity. The 31 eyes with two or more marks were evaluated regarding lens rotation. The rotation was less than 3°in 61% of eyes and was 3°or more in 39% of eyes. The angle of rotation was smaller when the edge of IOL optics was completely covered by the anterior capsule. Conclusion:The edge of toric IOL is to be completely covered by the anterior capsule to minimize rotation of the lens.
