Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of nonprogressive traumatic cataract following rupture of anterior lens capsule. Case:A 47-year-old male sought medical advice after his right eye was perforated by a flying wooden piece during carpentry one week before. The flying piece was removed manually by himself. He had received surgery for idiopathic macular hole 7 months before with visual acuity improving from 0.3 to 0.5. Findings:Corrected visual acuity was 0.5 right and 1.5 left. The right cornea showed a wound in the lower temporal quadrant with corresponding iris defect and opacity in the anterior lens capsule 3.5 mm in length. There was no leakage of aqueous through the corneal wound. After 27 months, the damaged site of the lens became fibrotic with visual acuity of 0.6. Conclusion:Lens opacity remained stationary because the damaged anterior capsule was closed by fibrosis and proliferation of cortical cells.
