Abstract. Purpose:To report a bilaterally affected case of retinal cavernous hemangioma observed at an interval of 24 years. Case:A 58-year-old female presented with bilaterally impaired visual acuity,She had had cavernous hemangioma in the brain and skin. Findings:Visual acuity was 1.2 right and 1.0 left when corrected for hyperopia. Both eyes showed red vascularized hemangioma interspersed with white saccular tissue in the fundus. When compared with description in the clinical record 24 years ago, there was no change in the size of hemangioma. A part of vascularized hemangioma had turned into white saccular tissue. Fluorescein angiogram gave corresponding findings. Conclusion:White saccular tissue in cavernous hemangioma of the retina may be consequences of cessation of blood cirvulation in the tumor.
