白内障手術練習用の軽度の角膜混濁モデル眼の作製と使用経験

A model of mild opaque cornea in the pig eye for practice of cataract surgery

要約　目的：白内障手術練習用の軽度の角膜混濁模擬眼を作製すること。対象と方法：飲料用のストローを2～3mm程度に短く切り，豚眼の角膜に載せて，その中空を灌流液で満たした。次に，ジアテルミー電極の先端を水中に入れ，角膜に直接触れないように凝固し混濁を作製した。このモデル眼を白内障手術の練習に使用した。結果：短時間で角膜上層に程度の軽い混濁を作製することができた。前房中の視認性は多少悪いが，角膜混濁の範囲が広くても特殊な照明を使用せず，前房内の手術操作を行うことができた。結論：本法により半透明の角膜混濁を豚眼で作製することが可能で，白内障手術の練習に有用なモデル眼の1つになると考えた。

Abstract.　Purpose：To describe a method to produce mild opaque cornea in the pig eye for the practice of cataract surgery by beginners. Method：A piece of drinking straw was cut to a length of 2 to 3 mm and was placed on the cornea and was filled with water. Corneal opacity was produced by applying diathermy under water without touching the cornea. This model was used to practise cataract surgery. Results：Mild corneal opacity was produced within a few minutes. Cataract surgery could be practised using this model without need of special illumination. Visibility of the anterior chamber and iris was not poor. Conclusion：Mild corneal opacity could be produced in the pig eye by this method. Cataract surgery could be practised on this model eye.
