Abstract. Background:Eternity X-70,an acrylic hydrophobic intraocular lens(IOL)made by Santen, has optic diameter of 7.0 mm and enables wide-angle observation of the fundus. It is necessary to create a 3.2 mm corneoscleral wound for insertion using XJ-70(Santen)as injector. Purpose:To report insertion of this IOL through a microincision opening. Cases and Method:Twenty eyes received implantation of Eternity X-70 following phacoemusification-aspiration through a 2.4 mm corneoscleral wound. The IOL was inserted using HOYA-IS injector and Type E-1 cartridge(HOYA). Results:IOL could be inserted in all the eyes without complications. Conclusion:Acrylic IOL with optic diameter of 7.0 mm could be safely inserted through a 2.4 mm corneoscleral wound.
