　眼内レンズを挿入した27例27眼について，術後の眼内レンズの着色の有無を細隙灯顕微鏡検査で追跡した。使用した眼内レンズはアクリル製で，VA60CA（HOYA）であった。眼内レンズの茶褐色の着色を4眼に認めた。手術から着色の発見までの期間は，それぞれ3週，4か月，5か月，10か月であった。術後の視力障害や，着色による自覚症状の訴えは皆無であった。着色の発見以後，その進行はなかった。4例中3例では僚眼に他社のアクリル眼内レンズが挿入されているが，着色は生じていない。筆者らは1年前からVA60CAの改良型であるVA60CBを140眼に挿入しているが，着色例は皆無である。今回の着色例については，VA60CAの製造または保存過程に問題があった可能性がある。

　We followed up 27 eyes of 27 patients that received intraocular lens（IOL）implantation. We paid particular attention to possible discoloration of IOL. These 27 eyes were implanted with acrylic IOL produced by HOYA（VA60CA）. Dark brown discoloration of IOL was detected in 4 eyes. The interval between surgery and detection of discoloration was 3 weeks,4months,5months and 10months respectively. There were no problems about visual acuity or subjective findings ascribable to discoloration. The discoloration remained stable after detection. Three out of these 4 cases underwent implantation of acrylic IOL in the fellow eye of another brand. No discoloration developed in these 3 eyes. There has been no instance of discoloration since we started using VA60CB,an improved version of VA60CA,since one year ago. There is a possibility that the observed discoloration was due to unidentified flaw during the production or storage of VA60CA.
