Abstract. Purpose:To report a case of intraocular malignant lymphoma diagnosed by iris biopsy. Case:A 79-year-old female noted blurring of vision in her right eye 2 months before. She was seen by us after exacerbation in spite of topical steroid under the diagnosis of uveitis. She had received chemotherapy for malignant lymphoma of tonsilla one year before. Findings:Her corrected visual acuity was finger counting right and 0.9 left. The right eye showed hypopyon, posterior synechia, and rubeosis with nodules over the whole iris. Biopsy of the iris led to the diagnosis of B-cell malignant lymphoma. After her left lung was found to be affected, she was treated by radiation and chemotherapy. Rubeosis and nodules of the iris remarkably responded to the treatment. She is doing well until present 13 months after her initial visit. Conclusion:Biopsy of the iris may be useful in a case with past history of malignant lymphoma and suspected iris infiltration.
