Multiple evanescent white dot syndromeにおけるリポフスチン自発蛍光の検討

Lipofuscin autofluorescence in multiple evanescent white dot syndrome

目的：多発一過性白点症候群（multiple evanescent white dot syndrome：MEWDS）でのリポフスチン自発蛍光の検索。対象と方法：臨床的にMEWDSと診断した25歳男性，30歳女性，36歳女性の3例3眼を対象とした。Heidelberg Retina Angiogram（ハイデルベルグ・レチナ・アンギオグラム） でリポフスチン自発蛍光を検出した。結果：3眼とも，白斑の部位でのリポフスチン自発蛍光は正常または過蛍光であった。結論：網膜色素上皮の代謝機能と関連しているリポフスチン自発蛍光が，MEWDSでは正常または過蛍光を呈する。この事実は本症の解釈と経過観察で有用である。

Purpose：To evaluate lipofuscin autofluorescence in multiple evanescent white dot syndrome（MEWDS）. Cases and Method：This study involved 3 eyes of 3 patients diagnosed with MEWDS. The series comprised one male aged 25 years and 2 females aged 30 and 36 years. Lipofuscin autofluorescence in the fundus was examined by a Heidelberg Retina Angiogram. Results：All the 3 eyes showed normal or increased lipofuscin autofluorescence at the site of white dots. Conclusion：White dots in MEWDS show normal or increased lipofuscin autofluorescence which is related to metabolic disorder in the retinal pigment epithelium. This finding may be of value in clinical follow-up and interpretation of the disease.
