◆緩和医療は極めて重要である．外科医は現時点ではこれを担う立場になることが多いので，立ち居振る舞いと症状緩和の基本的な知識は身につける必要がある．

◆しかし，個々の外科医が多くのものを背負いすぎないよう，緩和医療もチーム医療に上手に落とし込んだ体制の構築が必要である．
