はじめに
病名を告知する目的は，患者や家族などが疾患を正しく理解し，医療側と共同して治療に取り組むためである。現在では医療は，医師が提供した判断材料による患者側の自己決定にゆだねられるところが多い。本稿では，てんかんの診療で患者側に有用な情報提供はどうすべきかを検討したい。
