Prochlorperazineを精神分裂病に試用して

TREATMENT OF SCHIZOPHRENIA BY PROCHLORPERAZINE

緒言

　我々は今般塩野義製薬より新しいTranquilizerとしてPhenothiazin-Derivatである6140 R．P即ちProchlorperazine （邦名Novamin）を臨床的に使用する機会を得たので精神分裂病を対象に選び，その結果をここに報告して御参考に供する。

　6140 R．PはすでにアメリカではCompazineの名で不安，激越，緊張等を主とする神経症に使用され，著明な効果を見ている。

1. We have tried the treatment of schizo- phrenia by prochlorperazine on ten patients.

2. The change of psychiatric conditions of these patients was following:

Remission 1

Amelioration 5

Unchanged 4

Progression 0

3. As it concerns side effects, we have not encountered fever, thirst, skin erution and jaundice, as often observed on patients by chlorpromazine therapy.

On the contrary the extrapyramidal syn- drome as parkinsonoid state was confirmed more often and severely than chlorproma- zine.

4. The therapeutitc effect appeared slowly during the treatment.

5. The most convenient dayly dosis of pro- chlorperazine seems to be below 60mg.
