  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

1) The EEG. findings on 5 cases of cranio- pharyngioma were investigated. The rem- arkable abnormalities of EEG. records were observed in both occipital areas chiefly in child cases and on the contrary, in both frontal areas in adult cases. This fact may be come from the development of cranium in childhood, or be founded on the expan- sive tendency of tumors which in child cases developed to the basis of brain and in adult cases into the third ventricle mostly.

2) Sometimes, 5~6c/s. slow wave bursts appeared chiefly in both frontal bilaterally synchronously, that may be related with bifrontal delta rhythms in mesodiencepha- lic anatomical lesions which have been described by Passouant et al in 1955.

3) In most cases have brain tumors in the location with mesodiencephalic lesions, especially in the third ventricle, general slow waves appeared remarkably. Kersh- man et al (1949) described symmetric 5~ 6c/s. activity as the common abnormality with tumors in and around the third ven- tricle.

4) Some of midline tumors showed the loca- lized suppression due to slight in lination of location.
