  • Look Inside

The EEG. findings on 104 cases which were diagnosed or doubted to have brain tumor clinically were investigated, and some cases of which localization of tumor were made clear were followed up about clinical courses and EEG. changes. The results are concluded as follows: 1) The specific correlation between the histo-pathological findings and EEG. changes was not defined, but there were few changes in slowly grown tumors and the extracerebral intracranial tumors such as meningioma or hematoma. The EEG. abnormality was not always parallel with pathologic anatomical changes of intracranial process and intracranial Pressure.

2) The slow waves occured remarkably in acute intracerebral processes as well as in acute intensive dilatation of ventricles and oppression to diencephalon or brain shem.

3) The EEG. findings in cases of intracra-nial tumors show mostly secondary changes caused by tumors, and so we are always capable to understand these findings in reference to general conditions of patients, degree of diturbance in consciousness, clinical courses and other detailed examination. It draw our attention that the EEG. change is not fixed.
