  • Look Inside

Electroencephalographical examination for diagnosis of intracranial turnors shows some positive results only in cases of supratentorial tumors according to reports of many authors. But, any difinitely characteristic findings have scarcely been obtained in cases of post-erior fossa tumors, and it may be presumed that a case of brain tumor without remarka-ble abnormality in the electroencephalogram is to be a case with tumor in the posterior fossa. For the purpose to obtain possibly char-acteristic findings in cases with tumor in the pcisterior fossa, newly designed leads have been tried as follows: electrodes are placed on both sides of the parietal (5 and 6), the occipital (7 and 8) the middle (17 and 18) and posterior tempotal (15 and 16) areas, one electrode is settled upon protuberantia occipitalis externa (11), two electrodes are placed on the middle points on the lines from point 11 to extreme points on both mastoid processes, and other two electrodes on the middle points of the lines from 1 and 2 points to 15 and 16 points respectively on each side. Combinations of these eletctrodes for eight channel recording are showed in table 1.
