肥大型心筋症に脚気心を合併したと思われる1症例

Beriberi heart disease complicated with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

　われわれは，脚気心を強く疑われる症例で，異常Q波と，心室中隔，左室後壁の著明な肥厚を呈し，サイアミン投与により，高拍出性心不全が改善した7か月後も，なお心肥大の所見が持続し，肥大型心筋症の合併と考えられた症例を経験したので，若干の考察を加え報告する。

A 25-year-old man was admitted to Nagasaki City Hospital on Octover 5,1978 because of ankle edema, progressive dyspnea and peripheral neuro-pathy. Before admission he had been took coke about 3L every day for 3 months and was progres-sively ill. There was no history of chronic alcoho-lism, hypertension and valvular heart disease.

Physical examination revealed height 174 cm, body weight 76 kg, cardiac rate 120/min and blood pressure 126/60.
