　肺は単なるガス交換臓器ではなく，血管作動性物質を含む種々の物質を活発に代謝する代謝臓器であることは周知の事実である^1）。前回著者らは麻酔成犬を用いたin vivoの実験系において血管作動性物質である種々のプロスタグランディン，ヒスタミン，セロトニン，アドレナリンの気道系，肺循環系に及ぼす効果について検討し報告した^2,3）。今回は同様の実験系を用いて，生体内に広く分布し重要な生理学的，病態生理学的役割を演じていると思われる三種類の血管作動性物質，即ちアセチルコリン，ブラディキニン，Vasoactive Intestinal Poly—peptide　（VIP）の気道系，肺循環系，大循環系におよぼす効果について検討し，若干の知見を得たので報告する。

The fundamental importance of the lung in providing oxygen and elminating carbon dioxide is well known. However the lung has an another important role, that is the metabolism of vaso-active substances.

In the present investigation we studied the effect of acetylcholine, bradykinin and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide on the canine airways and pulmonary vascular bed.
