  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The electrophysiological and hemodynamic effects of Disopyramide phosphate (DP) were studied in 16 patients (10 sick sinus syndrome, 6 supraventricular and ventricular tachycardia) and in 3 control cases.1~2mg/kg DP was administered intravenously as a bolus. Heart rate was insigni-ficantly increased. However, A-H interval was lengthened in 3 (30%) and shortened in 5 of 15 patients (33%).

Lengthening of H-V interval was found in 5 of 16 patients (31%) but shortening was not recorded. It was thought that these changes were induced by dual effects, such as direct membraneous de-pressive and anticholinergic effects of disopyra-mide.
