The responses of the bronchomotor and bron-chial vascular tone to nerve stimulation were studied in the anesthetized, thoracotomized dogs. Distal end of cut cervical vagus nerve stimula-tion produced an increase of bronchomotor tone associated with a decrease of bronchial vascular tone. Sympathetic nerve stimulation resulted in bronchodilatation simultaneously with bronchial vascular constriction.
Carotid sinus nerve stimulation elicited an increase in bronchomotor tone associated with a decrease in bronchial vascular tone.
