　Ⅰ．緒言

　ある種の疾患では最小可聴閾値が容易に動揺することが認められている。

　更に，持続刺激により，かなり迅速な聴閾値の変動が認められ，Hall pike, Hood^1）等により，その変動が"relapse phenomen"（失墜現象）と名付けられるに到つた。

Experimental studies on the relapse pheno-menon seen in Menierre's disease are means of threshold tone decay test. Foollowing re-sults are obtained: 1. There seems to be no relation between the relapse phenomenon and the tonal frequ-ency which is characteristic of the former.

2. Neither is there any direct relation be-tween the degree of relapse phenomenon and the degree of loss in the pure tone hearing.

3. With a given tonal frequency at which relapse phenomenon was recognized if another tone at different frequency is sounded conti-nuously, the affected ear is found to reco-gnized the latter tone.
