Seventy-two cases of esophageal squamous cell cancer received EMR/ESD in our hospital. Among them, 11 cases(15%)demonstrated multiple cancer. Double cancer was found in 8 cases out of 11 cases(73%). Multiple cancer with two or three lesions was observed in 10 cases out of 11 cases(91%). Repeated EMR/ESD successfully reduced all cases to a cancer-free condition. One case received a consecutive 8 sessions of EMR/ESD before attaining a cancer free condition without losing the quality of the patient's life. As long as cancer infiltration is limited to T1-LPM, repeated EMR/ESD is considered to be an effective treatment to clear the patient's esophagus of cancer.
