  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

The present study was carried out to investigate the psychosocial aspects affecting smoking or smoking cessation behavior.

 The following results were obtained:

 1) Brinkman index was significantly correlated to the leukocyte counts. The mean of leukocyte counts in smokers was significantly greater than in non-smokers.

 2) Rates of Vital Capacity and Forced Expiratory Ventilation (% VC and FEV 1.0%) in smokers have a tendency to be lower than in non-smokers.
